dainty little piggies

I always wonder in whose pockets this thrupenny bit may have travelled
during the war (and since) until it found it's way to me
It's been in my sewing box for more than thirty years!

ps. Jackie's comment and the Ruler Fairy in my mosaic have brought back a lot of memories for me. I am old enough to remember "old" money. I remember, in 1971, when decimalisation came in and at school one of the lessons in my school book was to draw round the "new" money and do lots of sums with the coin shapes. I was nine years old in 1971
It was also in 1971 that I got told off for rocking on the back legs of my wooden chair. I fell backwards and the back of the chair broke. I got a rap over the knuckles with a wooden ruler from Mrs. Thompson for that! I bet this reprimand would not be tolerated in school nowadays!
