I was absolutely delighted with the response to the "Pass the Book" Valentine's Day giveaway and loved hearing about your favourite childhood books. I have made two prizes

The Winner

The winner gets the book that Emma - Silver Pebble first donated to the "Pass the Book" giveaway. Emma covered the book and decorated it with her lovely illustrations and I was the first recipient

"Time Remembered" by Miss Read is a charming book about a young girl moving from London to live in the countryside, discovering a deep love of nature and an idyllic childhood school life - you will love it!

The book is to be read and then passed on through your blog to another reader (with a few handcrafted goodies) but you get to keep the goodies!

The winner's goodies are:
  • Lovely milk chocolate hearts to enjoy while you are reading the book
  • Valentine's day red heart fairy lights
  • A little wire heart which I beaded with black/silver beads
  • A red heart card topper I stitched
  • Red/gold heart ribbon
  • 3 packets of red beads
  • A Gisella Graham red metal heart that says "Best Wishes"

  • Three hand crafted mixed media tags that I made - each tea dyed and distressed with copper metallic paint and distress ink, decorated with paper hearts, ribbon, text, vintage lace, printed calico and buttons

  • A "lucky penny pocket heart" that I made from cotton and velvet with a little calico pocket on the front that contains a button and a real penny for good luck!
  • Red homespun fabric
  • Vintage images and 3 little "With Love" cotton patches
  • Some fancy yarns in shades of red and 3 red glitter pom poms

The Second Prize

The second prize is a little different
  • Silver foil card making kit with heart templates
  • Vintage Alma Lynne Valentine's Day Card
  • Vintage images and 3 little "With Love" cotton patches
  • Pink ribbon
  • 4 Pink/silver bangles
  • 5 packets of red, pink and purple beads
  • Pink ditsy fabric
  • Homespun red/blue hearts fabric
  • Some fancy yarns in shades of red and 3 red glitter pom poms
  • A couple of small rubber stamps
  • A packet of red 3D heart confetti

  • A "lucky penny pocket heart" that I made from cotton and velvet with a little calico pocket on the front that contains a button and a real penny for good luck!

  • Three hand crafted mixed media tags that I made - each tea dyed and distressed with copper metallic paint and distress ink, decorated with paper hearts, ribbon, text, vintage lace, printed calico and button

Now the time has come to announce the two winners. There were 138 comments spread over three posts but some of them were duplicated so I made a list of the 116 entries and used a random number generator to pick two winners ...

... and the winners are, coincidentally, both called Cathy

19 - Cathy - One Pink Goose
67 - Cathy - Menopausal Musing

Congratulations to you both!

I made a couple more tags for my sketchbook too

Happy Valentine's Day

Began to kiss urgently

A couple more textile art beads

I haven't forgotten about showing a few holiday photos - I've just been a bit pre-occupied with the books last week. I will sort a few out for a posting later in the week

Have a good creative week ahead
