We had a lovely day. Indian Summer sunshine finally reached us in the far west and in the afternoon we walked into St. Ives down the coastpath

We had a cuppa and shared some chips on Porthminster beach, played in the harbour amusement arcade (for the first time ever) and hubby won me "Custard" from Roobarb & Custard on the grab machine thingy. I had some strange and amusing looks from people as Custard posed for me in the harbour

Then we walked round to the pier and watched an attention-seeking seal playing in the water and then had a drink in The Pool Club. It was starting to get dark. I took this picture of the Festival flags in the harbour

Later, we went for a meal at The Mermaid Seafood Restaurant in Fish Street, St. Ives

The Mermaid is our favourite place for special occasions because the food, service and ambience is consistently excellent. I confess to being a creature of habit and pretty much order the same thing every time:
Roast duck breast seasoned withplum, sweet soy and sweet chilli sauce
served with a red onion marmalade
and warm wafer bread
- ♥ -
Chump of Cornish lamb pan fried
served on a potato rosti
with a mint scented gravy
and red currant jelly

Later, Custard came out to dinner with us

and after a few glasses of wine he was anybody's!!!!
